[Jusis enters in time to see what Waver does and nods his approval. He closes the door behind him and gives a subtle indication that he hasn't even brought his phone with him. The blond takes a seat.]
Good to see you, Professor. I wish this was more of a social call, but given the situation....
[He gives a slight shrug.]
I've decided to have you part of the volunteer group, alongside Takame Kesi, Shroud, and myself. Though, as fair warning, they'll be sending a senior member to verify the necessity of my request.
I would be surprised if they didn't. [not even blinking at the names because yeah of course they did, and it was a little reassuring Jusis was putting himself out there as well.] I don't suppose it's anyone we should be worried about, is it?
[Jusis shakes his head, but there's a subtle shift in his expression that looks almost annoyed. Not at Waver, but at the person they're sending.]
Oh, no, not for anyone in Kaisou. I don't know him well, but the few times I've met him he's affable and friendly enough. He's simply... generous to a fault that stretches belief.
[Read: the man doesn't know how the fuck money works and this is coming from a stupidly wealthy CEO's son.]
This Guardian will most likely ask us some questions to get a better read on what's going on. Once he's sent his approval, there'll be more red tape for me to cut. However, once I'm given the green light, I'll contact you again and we can get started. Prepare yourself for a fight, as I'm expecting quite a bit of danger.
[He shakes his head and sighs.]
Unfortunately, there's not much else I can tell you about it. The details are intentionally kept obscure up until that point.
Understandable. I don't expect you to be able to tell me what they're not even telling you, and danger was practically a given. I'll probably need more vials at this rate. [which is what happens when you keep breaking them like they're grenades, waver]
What are the odds this actually works and gives us a decent shot at Zodiac? Are we in the range of 'freak chance' or 'almost certain' as an end result? I'll still do it, I just want to be realistic about what might happen.
Almost certain. I sure as hell don't cut corners, and I'm confident that this will serve our purposes. We'll lose access once this mission is complete, but I'm fine with that. All things considered, it's not something that should be abused.
A sentiment I can empathize with. That said, if you think of any questions between now and then, feel free to find me and ask. I'm not terribly difficult to find.
You don't have to worry about me. I said I would do it, and I never break my word. So I'll go along with whatever mad and reckless thing this turns out to be.
...That said, I'm not going to act like I'm anything but the weakest of the four of us. So if anything should end up going wrong, just... [Well, it would be a complete disaster back home, but it had to be done here regardless. Waver sighed and adjusted his sunglasses, frowning.]
I don't exactly have any next of kin where I'm stuck in another world. So if anything happens to me, do me a favor and consider Hansa Cervantes the closest equivalent.
I shall, but only if you do the same favor for me. I'm not one to abandon a friend to death. That said, if anything happens to me, I would prefer if Elliot Craig and Rean Schwarzer heard it first.
[He's already made arrangements just in case for Fugo and Morgan.]
Let's do our best to make sure that doesn't happen, though.
[Leave it to the world's most reckless mage to assume the worst before anything else.]
Of course. I'm not planning on anyone dying in the attempt, but optimism runs alongside complacency in these situations. Better to have a plan and not need it than need it and not have it. But I'll be as prepared for a fight as I can be.

[Why, yes, that is sarcasm from Jusis Albarea.]

[we're all sarcastic today buddy]
Well...as long as it's reasonably likely to work, I don't have a problem with putting myself on the line for that.

[Jusis will let it go for now, at least.]
Do you have any other questions for me?

Very well. Then, I'll take my leave here. Thank you for your time, Waver.
[Jusis will stand up and walk out. He's got things to do and people to talk to about a stupid dangerous volunteer job.]
