For fuck's sake, Takame, I'm your brother. If you can't tell me or Yusuke, what else were you going to do? Bottle the whole thing up until you explode?
If it meant that no one else had to suffer who didn't already witness it...
[Yeah, they both knew the answer to that question.]
I'm sorry. I... I came back. I promised that I would. But I... I am afraid, I think. Afraid of saying how the only thing that kept me from breaking that promise was a pact that I had no means of fully agreeing to.
You're not going to hurt anyone, Takame. Being possessed doesn't make you any less yourself, and if things go wrong you know damn well everyone here will rush to help you with it.
[Takame sat with that for a long moment. He was still... frightened. Of so many things and it wasn't like a Warrior of Light to show his fear. He didn't want Scintilla or Rose to avoid showing their fear, so he hid his.
But Waver was right. If not around his brother, who could he show it around? Who could he tell if not the ones closest?
He sighed quietly.]
... I need to find the right words. When I do I'll not hide it any longer than I need to. [At the very least, Takame was a man of his word.]
I only pray that this doesn't become a situation where you all need to come to my rescue yet again.
[He gestured for Takame to lean over again; once he did (bless his trusting heart), he would get flicked straight on in the forehead.]
This isn't a transaction, for god's sake. If we really didn't want to do something, you know damn well we either wouldn't do it or at least complain the whole time. You're our friend, and we care about you. That's the only reason or exchange anyone needs to support you.
[... he deserved that. Again. You'd think he'd have learned the second time.
Takame knew Waver was right. He just couldn't stand to see his friends hurt in general... he wished he were better, that was all. He cared about them. They cared about him. And wanted to do things for them. But if they didn't want or need him to... he wouldn't.]
I... I know. I'm sorry... Thank you, Waver.
[... wait a moment. Being flicked twice made him realize something.]
I'm aware you know that, but it won't hurt to keep it in mind at a time like this.
[At the observation, Waver paused and looked at the back of his right hand; all three marks were back to the faded scars they had been for the past decade.]
Yeah, guess I did. [He shrugged, obviously not terribly broken up about it.] What about it?
[... Inept as Takame was at reading people's emotions, Takame's known Waver long enough to figure he actually wasn't too torn this time about it. Diarmuid was still with him. They were still bonded in more ways than one. As long as that was the case, it didn't really matter.
... Though given Waver's experience with Gilgamesh's Noble Phantasm, perhaps Takame will keep the fact that it was used to himself for now.]
... 'Tis merely an observation. You both must have deemed his Noble Phantasm necessary to use. If that "Ghost General" was anything like Kotomine... I understand why. [He leaned back where he sat.]
I'm aware there is more work to be done... but I'm glad this is over.
We figured that was the most likely outcome. Douman was practically a warmup round compared to the shit his superiors were likely to be, and I like to go into a fight prepared wherever possible. Which is how I'm still breathing, close call though it may have been.
Things won't necessarily be easy now that this is done. But a lack of Command Seals won't stop him using Moralltach in the future. It just limits how much I can back him up for it.

...Stupid question. I know.
