[A phoenix fluttered in through the window before transforming into Waver in a burst of fire and loose feathers. When Rose spoke, he stared for a moment before reacting just the same as he'd done with Takame: stepping forward and pulling her into an abrupt hug.]

[Emotionally, Rose isn’t as strong as the other Warriors of Light. She knows this. It’s not a surprise.]

[When Waver hugs her, it takes her almost no time at all to break down. She returns the hug readily, and once she’s able to stop the crying, she speaks:]

I——everything was so quick. By the time I got to him, he was already—-he was already—-

[She’s cut off by her own sobs. It’s too real, still, to say the truth aloud.]

I couldn’t do anything.

I couldn’t do anything. When he went down, I froze. I couldn’t even move. If someone hadn’t shaken me to, I don’t know what would have happened.

He was...different when he got up.

[She shakes her head. The tears have stopped, if only temporarily. It's difficult to talk about, but if there's anyone she should have this conversation with, it's Waver.]

I've seen him fight before, but I've never seen him so feral. What if something took him? What if I can't get my brother back?

Come on, Rose, I'm sure it'll be alright. Tensions were...what they were, and we know enough possessed people that seem to function just fine. Takame's always going to be Takame, one way or another.

The last I saw of him was during the battle with Kirei. Jusis ordered him off the field, and he obeyed.
